Refunds & Cancellations
Last updated 1 August 2026
We plan every journey personally, and we know plans change. This is how cancellations and refunds work, so there are no surprises.
You booked with YogNagari Rishikesh and you are refunded by YogNagari Rishikesh. You do not need to approach an operator, a driver or a property for your money — see the Terms of Use for why.
There are three situations, and they follow different rules: you cancel, we cancel, or the mountain decides.
Booking & deposits
A journey is confirmed once we receive your deposit. The balance is due 30 days before departure unless we agree otherwise.
Before you pay anything, we tell you in writing what is refundable and what is not. Where part of the amount is non-refundable — a booking amount that covers planning already done, or a cost we have to commit on your behalf — you see that figure before you pay it, not afterwards. We do not retain anything that was not disclosed to you in advance.
1 · If you cancel
Refunds depend on how far ahead you tell us, counted from your departure date:
- 30 or more days before: 90% refund. We keep a 10% booking fee.
- 15–29 days before: 50% refund.
- 7–14 days before: 25% refund.
- Fewer than 7 days before, or no-show: no refund.
These are the figures, and they are the whole calculation — we do not subtract anything further from them. The 10% booking fee is the non-refundable amount described above: it pays for work already done on your journey — routing, availability, holding and negotiating with operators — which does not become undone when a trip is cancelled. You see it before you pay, which is what makes keeping it lawful.
Costs we cannot get back
Some amounts can’t be returned once we’ve committed them for you — government permits, helicopter slots, hotel prepayments, and payment-gateway charges.
When you cancel, these come out of our side, not yours: the four figures above are what you get. They matter in one situation only — force majeure, below — where nobody cancelled and there is no schedule to apply, so what comes back genuinely depends on what we can recover.
2 · If we cancel
If we cancel your journey for a reason within our control, you get your money back in full — or, if you prefer it, an equivalent alternative journey at no extra cost. The choice is yours, not ours, and the tiers above do not apply: they describe what happens when you cancel, not when we do.
3 · If the mountain decides — force majeure
Some things are outside anyone’s control: landslides, floods, temple or kapat closure, government restrictions, weather, and public-health emergencies. These are common in the high Himalaya and they are not anybody’s fault.
When one of them stops a confirmed journey, we do not keep your money and we cannot promise all of it back either — because by then some of it is already with hotels, transport operators and permit offices. What you get back is what we can actually recover from them, less costs already incurred that cannot be recovered. We go and ask for it — that is our job, not yours — and we show you what came back and what did not.
Wherever it is possible, we will offer you rescheduling or a travel credit as an alternative to a partial refund, because a postponed Yatra usually recovers more of your money than a cancelled one.
Char Dham note
Permits, registration slots, and helicopter bookings for the Char Dham Yatra are often non-refundable once secured. We’ll always tell you what’s refundable before you commit.
How to request
Email namastey@yognagaririshikesh.com with your booking name and dates, or message us on WhatsApp. Approved refunds reach your original payment method within 7–10 business days.
Refunds are returned to the instrument you paid with, through the same gateway that took the payment. We cannot redirect a refund to a different card or account.
