Who you are dealing with
YogNagari Rishikesh is a sole proprietorship run from Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India by its proprietor, Sudarshan Tomar. We plan and sell our own travel services — journeys, transfers, rafting and other river activities, yoga and retreat stays, and Char Dham arrangements.
When you book with us, your contract is with YogNagari Rishikesh. We are the party you pay, the party responsible for delivering what you paid for, and the party to come back to if something is wrong. This website is not a marketplace and we do not act as an intermediary introducing you to someone else’s booking.
In plain terms: you book with us, you pay us, we set the price, and we invoice you. Everything on this site is sold by YogNagari Rishikesh as its own service. You are never buying from a driver, a hotel or a river operator through us.
How we work with local partners
We source what we sell from trusted local partners — ashrams and yoga schools, river operators, drivers, guides, and accommodation providers. These partners are our suppliers. They are not selling to you, you do not contract with them, and you should not have to chase them. We set the price, we take the payment, and we carry the arrangement.
Two honest exceptions, because they are things you will physically encounter:
- Safety waivers. For adventure activities such as rafting, an operator will ask you to sign their own waiver at the activity site, as their licence requires. Signing it does not change who you booked with.
- Services we help with but never sell. Helicopter seats, temple pujas and darshan, Char Dham registration, and travel insurance are booked through their official channels — the government portal, the temple committee, an IRDAI-licensed insurer. We explain them and point you to the right place. We do not take money for them and we are not their seller.
Information shared on this site
Itinerary suggestions, indicative pricing, and operator references shared with you over WhatsApp or email are estimates and proposals, subject to availability, weather, government regulations, and final confirmation in writing.
Imagery
The illustrations and images on this site are decorative and representative. Actual ashrams, river conditions, weather, accommodation, and experiences may differ. We aim to set accurate expectations during the planning conversation, not on this teaser.
Booking & confirmation
A journey becomes a confirmed booking only when it is agreed in writing — by email or WhatsApp — and secured by a deposit. Until that deposit is paid, your enquiry is non-binding: it places no obligation on you or on us, and forms no contract.
Once a journey is confirmed by deposit, our Refund & Cancellation Policy governs any change or cancellation. Please read it alongside these Terms — together they set out how your booking works.
How payment is taken
Payments to YogNagari Rishikesh are processed through Razorpay, a payment gateway licensed by the Reserve Bank of India. Payment is taken on Razorpay’s hosted checkout: your card, UPI or netbanking credentials are entered on Razorpay’s own secure page and go directly to Razorpay. They never pass through, or get stored on, our servers. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the last few digits or reference of the instrument used — never the instrument itself.
Amounts are charged in Indian Rupees (₹) unless a price is displayed to you in another currency at the moment of payment. The price we show you is the total amount payable — where any tax applies to it, that tax is included in the figure unless we state otherwise in writing.
What is live today, as of 1 August 2026: online checkout on this website is still being built and is not yet open. Journeys are currently planned and confirmed with a planner over WhatsApp or email, and your planner will tell you how to pay when your journey is confirmed. This section describes the mechanism that applies whenever you pay us, on this site or through a link we send you.
Cancellations and refunds
Three situations, and they follow different rules. If you cancel, you are refunded according to the published cancellation schedule, counted from your departure date; where part of the amount is non-refundable, that is disclosed to you before you pay it and never afterwards. If we cancel for a reason within our control, you receive a full refund or an equivalent alternative journey — your choice. If a journey is stopped by force majeure, see the section below.
The figures, the deductions and how to request a refund are all set out in the Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms. The tiers that applied on the day you paid are the tiers that apply to your booking — a later change to the policy does not reach back to a journey already confirmed.
Force majeure
Some events are outside anyone’s control: landslides, floods, earthquakes, temple or kapat closure, government orders and restrictions, strikes, war or civil unrest, extreme weather, and public-health emergencies. In the high Himalaya these are ordinary risks of travel rather than rare exceptions, and neither you nor we can be held to a promise that such an event has made impossible.
Where force majeure prevents or disrupts a confirmed journey, we will first try to reschedule it or offer a travel credit, because that usually preserves more of your money than cancelling. Where a refund is what you want or all that is possible, what we can return is what we are able to recover from hotels, transport operators and permit offices, less costs already incurred that cannot be recovered — and we will show you which is which. We do not treat a force-majeure event as an excuse to keep money that came back to us.
What we ask of you
A journey in the Himalaya depends on both sides doing their part. When you book with us, you agree to:
- give accurate traveller details — names as they appear on ID, ages, phone number and email — since permits, hotel check-ins and Char Dham registration are all matched against them;
- carry valid identity documents for every traveller, and any permit or registration your journey requires;
- tell us about medical conditions, pregnancy, age limits and fitness that could affect a high-altitude or adventure activity — before booking, not on the morning of departure;
- be at pickup points on time, since a shared departure cannot wait without affecting other travellers;
- follow the safety instructions of guides, drivers and activity operators, and the rules of temples, ashrams and protected areas;
- take responsibility for travellers under 18 in your party, and for your own belongings.
Where a traveller is refused participation for a genuine safety reason — an activity operator’s medical or age rules, for example — or where information given to us turns out to be wrong, the cancellation terms apply as though the booking had been cancelled by you.
Health, fitness and safety
Activities such as river rafting, trekking, bungee jumping and Himalayan travel involve inherent risks. Participation is at the traveller’s own risk and subject to operator-specific waivers signed at the time of activity. We strongly recommend suitable travel insurance and honest self-assessment of medical fitness — the Char Dham region is high altitude.
Altitude is the one to take seriously. Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri all sit high enough for altitude sickness to affect a healthy person, and it does not care how fit you are. If you have a heart or lung condition, are pregnant, or are travelling with very young children or elderly parents, tell us at the planning stage so the itinerary can be built around it — and take medical advice of your own.
Weather, landslides, road closures, permit rules and government directives change at short notice and are outside anyone’s control. We may alter a route, a stop or an order of travel where safety requires it; where that changes what you paid for, the Refund & Cancellation Policy applies.
Limitation of liability
We take responsibility for the journey we sold you, and we do not push that responsibility onto a supplier. What we cannot accept is unlimited liability for events we did not cause. So, to the extent Indian law allows:
- our liability for any claim arising out of a booking is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected service;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — a missed onward flight, a missed connection, lost earnings, or a spoiled plan that followed a delay;
- we are not liable for loss or damage caused by force majeure, by a traveller’s own act or omission, or by a traveller ignoring safety instructions or a medical warning;
- we are not liable for the services we help with but never sell — helicopter seats, temple pujas and darshan, Char Dham registration and insurance — because we do not sell them and take no money for them.
Nothing here limits anything that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or for fraud. Nor does it affect any right you have under Indian consumer law.
If something goes wrong
Bring it to us directly — not to the operator, the driver or the property. Grievances are handled by Sudarshan Tomar, proprietor:
- Email: namastey@yognagaririshikesh.com
- WhatsApp: +91 91190 76359
There is no call-centre queue and no ticket number — you reach the person who runs the business. Full contact details are on the Contact page.
We acknowledge every grievance within 48 hours and tell you what we are doing about it.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms, and any booking made under them, are governed by the laws of India.
If something goes wrong, talk to us first. Write to Sudarshan Tomar at namastey@yognagaririshikesh.com and give us a fair chance to put it right — in a business this size, that is genuinely the fastest route, and most things are resolved there. If it cannot be resolved between us, the dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India.
Nothing in this section takes away any right you have to approach a consumer forum or any other authority available to you under Indian law.
Changes to these terms
These terms apply to the site as it stands today. When the full booking platform launches, terms reviewed by counsel will replace them, and the date at the top of this page will change. We will not apply new terms retroactively to a journey already confirmed under the old ones.
